Plain-English version of the legal terms governing your use of Unmist. These terms govern use of the site; specific optional features may ask for separate acceptance where appropriate. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Section 01
Who we are
Unmist ("we", "us", "our") is an independent consumer-information service that surfaces public record data about UK private aesthetic and medical clinics. Unmist is a trading name of Northlight Technologies Ltd, a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales under company number 17513274; it is the party to these terms. The registered office address and ICO registration details are published in our Privacy Policy (Section 01). For any contractual or general enquiry you can reach us at hello@unmist.co.uk.
Section 01b
Who this site is for
Unmist is intended for adults aged 18 and over. In England, the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 restricts cosmetic botulinum-toxin and filler injections for under-18s, subject to statutory exceptions. Rules differ by treatment and UK nation. We do not knowingly collect any personal data about under-13s — the UK GDPR Article 8 age of digital consent. If you are under 18, please do not use the Ask Unmist box or the corrections form, and do not rely on the information here to make decisions about treatment. Where a form or the Ask Unmist box collects information, you confirm by submitting it that you are 18 or over.
Section 02
What this site is — and isn't
Unmist is an information society service. We aggregate and display data that is already publicly available from sources such as the public registers of the General Medical Council (GMC), General Dental Council (GDC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Care Quality Commission (CQC), clinic websites, and public search and map services (such as Google and Brave) used to identify a clinic and find its website.
Unmist is not:
- a medical service or a provider of medical advice;
- a regulator, accreditor, or endorsement body for any clinic or practitioner;
- a booking platform (we do not transact);
- an editorial review of clinical quality, treatment outcomes, or patient satisfaction;
- a substitute for your own due diligence when choosing a clinician.
Section 03
No medical advice
Nothing on Unmist constitutes medical advice or a recommendation for or against any specific treatment, clinic, or practitioner. You should always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any decision about your health, and you should independently verify any practitioner's identity, qualifications, registration, and suitability before booking.
The register markers, "not clearly shown" notes and other indicators on Unmist describe the presence or absence of public records and signals as we found them on the dates indicated. They are not assessments of clinical safety, competence, or treatment quality.
The "Weigh their answers" ticks and the Consultation Kit reflect only the selections you make in the open browser tab. They are not stored by Unmist, are not an assessment of the clinic, and are lost when you leave the page.
Any AI-generated output — including responses from the "Ask Unmist" feature — is grounded in publicly available sources, is provided for information only, is not medical advice, and is not warranted by us to be accurate, complete, or current. You should verify any information against the clinic and the official registers before relying on it.
Section 04
Accuracy and data sources
We draw data from public sources and aim to re-check it from time to time. We make reasonable efforts to ensure information is accurate at the time of display, but:
- public records change between our checks (a clinician might renew a licence, a CQC rating might be revised, a clinic might move address);
- automated extraction from clinic websites is imperfect and may miss qualifications or treatments not visible on the pages we read;
- we do not independently verify every claim made by a clinic on its own website.
Each clinic page shows when we last read the clinic's website (or says when that date is unavailable), so you can decide how much weight to give what we display. If you spot something inaccurate, please use our corrections page, our Notice & Takedown process or write to hello@unmist.co.uk.
Section 05
Intellectual property
The Unmist name, logo, page designs, and editorial copy are owned by us and may not be reproduced, mirrored, scraped, or republished without our written permission, except where the law allows it (for example fair dealing for quotation, criticism, review or news reporting, with sufficient acknowledgement).
Clinic names, practitioner names, the names of regulators and registers (such as GMC, GDC, NMC and CQC) and similar identifiers are used purely for factual descriptive purposes and remain the property of their respective owners. We do not claim affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from any clinic or regulator named on this site.
Section 06
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, mirror, frame, or systematically extract content from this site;
- use this site to harass, defame, or stalk any individual or business;
- attempt to access non-public areas of the site (such as the admin interface) or interfere with its operation;
- misrepresent any Unmist output (for example by publishing a screenshot or quote out of context to imply we have endorsed, ranked, or condemned a clinic, which we do not).
Section 07
Linking to Unmist
You are welcome to link to any page on Unmist from another website, social post, or email, provided the link does not suggest any endorsement, sponsorship, or commercial relationship that does not exist, and does not present Unmist content in a false or misleading context.
Section 08
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by English law, Unmist (Northlight Technologies Ltd), its contributors and service providers will not be liable for:
- any decision you make about a treatment, clinic, or practitioner based in whole or in part on information displayed on this site;
- any financial loss, missed opportunity, or business loss arising from your use of this site;
- any third-party content, including external links and regulator pages we link to;
- any temporary unavailability, data error, or other technical fault.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, which cannot be excluded or limited.
Section 09
Indemnity
If you are a business user, or use this site in the course of a business, and you use it in breach of these terms (for example by scraping content for republication, or by using Unmist output to defame a clinic), you agree to reimburse us for any reasonable costs, damages, or legal fees we incur as a result of that breach or of your infringement of any third party's rights. This does not apply to consumers acting outside the course of a business, and nothing in it affects your non-excludable statutory rights.
Section 10
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always at this URL with the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage. By continuing to use the site after a change you accept the new terms.
Section 11
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and your use of Unmist are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts applicable where you live, and nothing in this clause removes mandatory consumer protections. For business users, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
