What does chemical peel cost in the UK?
22 clinics in our catalogue across the UK show chemical peel on their own website and publish a price for it. Who can perform chemical peel?
England does not yet have one national licensing scheme for practitioners of non-surgical cosmetic treatments, so ask who performs chemical peel, which professional register they are on and what training they hold.
What should I ask before booking chemical peel?
Could you tell me who would treat me, and are they on the GMC, NMC or GDC register? Could you send me the price before I book, including any consultation fee? What does the first consultation involve, and is there a fee? Unmist gives no medical advice.
Are chemical peels regulated?
A peel done purely for cosmetic purposes is not automatically a CQC-regulated activity in England. Scope can change where a healthcare professional is treating a disease, disorder or injury, and deeper procedures may carry different clinical and premises requirements. Ask who would carry it out, what product and depth are proposed, what their qualifications are and which rules apply to that exact procedure and premises.
Will I peel visibly afterwards?
Downtime varies by peel depth — from light flaking to more extensive peeling and longer recovery for deeper peels — so Unmist does not give clinical advice. Ask the clinic what downtime to expect for the specific peel they recommend, and to show you photos of the expected recovery before you consent.
Can I have a peel if I have melasma or rosacea?
Some peel formulations are appropriate; others can worsen pigmentation or vascular response, so this needs individual assessment. Ask the clinic to carry out and give you a written suitability assessment before any chemical is applied.
