Lip filler in London — what to check on the public record.
Purely cosmetic subcutaneous filler injections are generally not a CQC-regulated activity in England, although other activities at the provider may be. Fillers do not all share one legal classification: depending on composition and intended use, a product may be a medical device, a medicine or a general product. Cosmetic filler injections for under-18s are generally prohibited. Unmist surfaces what to verify before you book.
Five things to ask before you book
- 01
Do you keep hyaluronidase (filler dissolver) on site in case of problems?
- 02
Could I see some of your lip filler results?
- 03
Which filler brand do you use?
- 04
How uncomfortable is it, and how long do bruising and swelling last?
- 05
If I wasn’t happy with how it looked, could it be adjusted or dissolved — and at what cost?
Check a clinic near you
Type a clinic name, or a town or postcode for the clinics nearby — in our catalogue and public Google listings. We never rank clinics and never take payment to list one.
If you allow location access, we reduce it in your browser to an approximate 1 km area. That point appears in the results URL and short-lived server logs and is sent to our location and nearby-clinic providers for this search. Privacy details
Frequently asked
Is lip filler the same as anti-wrinkle injections?
No. Lip filler is typically a hyaluronic-acid gel that adds volume; anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription-only medicine that relaxes muscle. They are different products with different risk profiles, providers, and recovery timelines.
What is hyaluronidase and why does it matter?
Hyaluronidase is a prescription-only medicine that dissolves hyaluronic-acid filler. It is used as an emergency treatment if filler is accidentally injected into a blood vessel (vascular occlusion). Ask whether the clinic keeps it on site, who can prescribe and administer it, and who manages that emergency out of hours.
How long does lip filler last?
This varies by product and person, so Unmist does not give clinical advice. Ask the clinic how long the filler they would use typically lasts, and to give you the product name, syringe volume and follow-up window in writing before you sign consent.
Can a non-medical injector be safe?
Training among non-medical injectors varies widely, so who you would call if something goes wrong matters as much as the product itself. Ask which UK register the injector is on (GMC, GDC or NMC), who prescribes any prescription-only medicine involved, and what the complication protocol and emergency cover are before you book.
