Longevity clinic — what to ask.
“Longevity clinic” is a name some private clinics give to a preventive-health programme. Private health screening ranges from simple blood tests and examinations to full-body scans, and what a programme includes, and who is responsible for it, differs from clinic to clinic.
Worth asking
- IV drips, NAD+ and B12: Ask who prescribes and administers it (GMC/NMC), and what evidence the clinic can show for your goal.
- Peptides: Peptides such as these are not licensed medicines in the UK: ask the prescriber about licensing and evidence.
- Exosomes: Ask whether the product is applied topically and its origin; injectable exosomes are not licensed in the UK.
- Stem cells, ozone, plasma exchange, longevity medication: Ask about licensing, trial status and evidence.
- Weight loss injections: Weight loss injections — prescription-only: a prescriber must assess you.
- HRT and TRT: Ask for the prescriber's GMC number and the monitoring plan (blood tests).
- Genetic, epigenetic and microbiome tests: Ask where your genetic data is stored, for how long, and whether it is shared or sold.
- Full-body MRI, DEXA and heart scans: Ask who reports the scan (GMC radiologist) and what happens if something is found.
